Jewish Jazz
In 1983, many Klezmer bands (including Kapelye and KCB) starting making headlines throughout America. "The Wall Street Journal ran a front-page article on the music. The Klezmorim had their Carnegie Hall concert, and their third record, Metropolis, was nominated for a Grammy. During that summer, the term "Jewish Jazz" was coined at a lecture given and it came to be synonymous with "Klezmer". This lead to the creation and recording of many different Klezmer Bands with a heavy jazz influence or feel.
